The W&M Procurement Office is working hard to finalize a contract with a web consulting firm. After the contract is inked, I can announce our partners for web information architecture and design. I hope to be able to make this information public by the end of this week!

Are there any plans for a schoolwide calendar system? I'm in charge of the UCAB calendar and might be managing some others, and trying to decide whether rewriting VTCalendar would be worth it.
The need for event calendars are certainly in our minds as we review and consider various web content management systems. In the interim, your might consider the calendar tool in WM Web Templates.

Okay, I guess if a schoolwide calendar is going to be part of the complete redesign (which, it seems, will take about 1.5 years?) then I'll just go on with business as planned.
No offense to the W&M templates calendars... but there really isn't any comparison between that and any open-source or commercial solution. Aside from the lack of categories and search, there's no iCal or RSS for sharing calendars (something that has been promised, but not implemented, on the W&M homepage calendar for about a year). All in all, there's sort of an avoidance of the W&M toolkit because it's pretty restrictive.
